Rental Terms
YOUR CHOICE RENT A CAR TERMS AND CONDITIONS
DRIVER’S LICENSE: The driver must hold a license for at least three years. The driver’s license must be Greek European (for EU countries) or International (for non-EU countries). The minimum age of the driver is 23 years. Otherwise, the vehicle rental must be pre-agreed with YOUR CHOICE RENT A CAR with an extra charge for guarantee coverage which will be made with a credit/debit card accepted by YOUR CHOICE RENT A CAR to cover the amount to be agreed between YOUR CHOICE RENT A CAR and the renter.
METHOD OF PAYMENT: For all categories the renter must present a credit card accepted by YOUR CHOICE RENT A CAR to cover the amounts related to the guarantee and the payment of rental costs. Payment can also be made in cash if the cost does not exceed €500.00. (for non-prepaid reservations). Normal cancellation charges will not apply if you choose to cancel your booking. If you cancel and have already paid for your vehicle rental, you will receive a full refund. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your booking as cancelled.
WARRANTY: A security deposit will be held on the driver’s credit card when the car is picked up which is equal to the security waiver amount included in the rental selected at the time of booking. The amount of the deposit will be returned in full at the end of the rental, as long as no other charges are incurred. The release of the amount can take up to 14 days depending on the issuing bank of the card. In cases where a total exemption has been paid in the event of an accident, there is no need to withhold an amount.
FINES AND VIOLATIONS: All fines and administrative penalties resulting from the fault of the driver are fully borne by the lessee.
CAR INSURANCE: All YOUR CHOICE RENT A CAR authorized car drivers are exempt for fire damage to the rental car, and are insured against third party liability for death, bodily injury and property damage. Both coverages are subject to the general conditions of YOUR CHOICE RENT A CAR’s contract with its Insurance company.
DISCLAIMER: The renter’s liability for damage to the rental vehicle may be limited, provided that the C.O.K. is not violated, to the charge of €500.00 for all categories by paying the amounts of €8.00 per rental day. The renter can be fully exempted from his participation in the event of an accident of the rented vehicle by paying the daily amount of €15.00 per rental day. Damage to the undercarriage and wheels are not covered.
ROAD ASSISTANCE: Roadside assistance includes basic coverage covering cases involving mechanical breakdown of the car. Roadside assistance does not include:1) Assistance in case the renter is locked out of the car.2) Assistance in the event of vehicle immobilization due to lack of fuel.3) Help in case of need to replace/change a tire.In case the driver needs to call roadside assistance for any of the above cases then there is an additional charge of €70.00.
ADDITIONAL DRIVER/S: Daily fee of €5.00 for each additional driver. In the event of an accident in which the driver has not been declared, the lessee bears the full amount of the resulting damage, even if he has paid a liability waiver.
ADDITIONAL CLEANING CHARGE: Applies if upon return the vehicle needs cleaning beyond the usual to prepare for the next rental. The biological cleaning fee is €100.00. For cases where we need to clean a seat, a child’s seat and not the entire living room, the fee is €50.00. FUEL POLICY: The renter is obliged to deliver the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as he received it, which will be indicated in the vehicle rental contract.
FUEL CHARGE: The minimum fee is €20.00 with a maximum of €50.00.
CHILD SEATS: They are only available after reservation and at a charge of €3.00 per day except for ISOFIX which are charged at €15.00 per day.
NAVIGAΤOR – GPS: They are only available after reservation and for a fee of €10.00 per day.
VEHICLE TYPE CHANGES: The company reserves the right, depending on availability, to provide a different type of car from the one of the original reservation with one of a similar or higher category.
COLLECTION-DELIVERY: Car pick-up and drop-off is not charged for the drop-off points indicated at the time of booking. Delivery and collection outside the YOUR CHOICE RENT A CAR stations is possible with a fee starting from €10.00 for delivery within the city. Outside the city, the charge will be an additional €0.60/km. A fee of €50.00 is charged for each delivery or pick-up after opening hours.
SHIP TRANSPORT OUTSIDE OF RHODES: It is only permitted with the prior written approval of YOUR CHOICE RENT A CAR and if the renter has accepted “Shipping Cover”. Otherwise, the lessee is responsible for the entirety of any damage caused to the leased vehicle during its transportation from any cause, regardless of any coverages and limitations of liability accepted and paid for at the start of the lease. Shipping Coverage is available at a cost of €20.00 per rental day and a maximum charge of €100.00 per rental.
TAXES: All the above prices and charges are subject to VAT and in some areas a municipal tax of 0.5% is charged on the rental price. -
