The following terms and conditions govern all vehicle rental agreements with Van Rentals Tsiakardonis. By confirming a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms in full.
1. Driver Requirements

Driver's Licence: Drivers must have held a valid licence for at least 2 years. Non-EU citizens are required to present a valid International Driving Permit alongside their domestic licence.
Additional Drivers: A second driver may be added to the contract. This service is free of charge if an optional insurance package is selected; otherwise, a daily fee of €5 applies.
2. What's Included in the Rate
Basic Coverage: Included as standard. This covers Third-Party Liability (Bodily Injury & Property Damage), Public Liability, 24/7 Roadside Assistance, Accident Care, Legal Protection, and Personal Driver Accident insurance.
Taxes: All rates are inclusive of 24% VAT and all local taxes.
Airport Pickup: Delivery and collection at Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) are provided free of charge.
3. Insurance & Liability (CDW)
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): You may select this premium package to minimise your liability. The daily cost for CDW is:
€10 per day for the City Cars category.
€15 per day for SUVs, 7-Seaters, 8-Seater Vans, 9-Seater Vans, and Professional Use Vans.
Coverage: This package covers tires, glass breakage (windshield/windows), mirror damage, rims, minor scratches, the underside of the vehicle, windshield wipers, and loss of keys.
Excess Amounts: With the CDW package, the deductible (excess) is limited to:
€400 for the City Cars category.
€800 for SUVs, 7-Seaters, 8-Seater Vans, 9-Seater Vans, and Professional Use Vans.
Important: Insurance coverage is strictly invalidated if the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, violates the Greek Traffic Code (K.O.K.), or operates the vehicle on non-paved (off-road) surfaces.
4. Fuel & Vehicle Condition
Fuel Policy (Same-to-Same): The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as provided at pickup. No refunds are issued for excess fuel.
Inspection: A joint inspection of the vehicle is conducted at both the start and end of the rental. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as received.
5. Cancellations & Changes
Early Cancellation: For cancellations made 21 days or more prior to arrival, the deposit is fully refundable.
Late Cancellation Fees: For cancellations made within 21 days prior to arrival, the deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances. Any cancellation within this timeframe results in full retention of the deposit by the company.
6. Prohibited Use
Driving the vehicle outside of Greek borders is strictly prohibited.
Transporting the vehicle by ferry is not allowed without prior written authorisation from the company.
The vehicle must not be used for racing, towing other vehicles, or any illegal transportation or activities.
7. Accident Protocol
In the event of an accident, you must contact our office immediately and notify the police. An official police report is mandatory to validate all insurance claims.
8. Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit is required at the time of vehicle pickup through a credit or debit card pre-authorisation or cash.
The security deposit amounts are as follows:
€400 for the City Cars category.
€800 for SUVs, 7-Seaters, 8-Seater Vans, 9-Seater Vans, and Professional Use Vans.
The security deposit will be released after the vehicle is returned, inspected, and confirmed to be in the same condition as received, subject to any applicable charges, damages, fines, or violations of the rental terms.
9. Traffic Fines, Tolls & Administrative Charges
The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking violations, toll charges, and any penalties incurred during the rental period.
In addition, the company reserves the right to charge an administrative processing fee for handling and managing any traffic violations or unpaid charges related to the rental.
10. Late Return Policy
Vehicles must be returned at the agreed date and time stated in the rental agreement.
A reasonable grace period may be provided at the company's discretion. Unauthorised delays may result in additional rental charges and could affect insurance validity.
If the renter expects a delay, the company must be informed as soon as possible in order to approve any extension, subject to vehicle availability.
11. Smoking, Cleaning & Interior Condition
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all vehicles.
The renter is required to return the vehicle in a reasonably clean condition. Excessive dirt, stains, sand, pet hair, strong odours, or interior damage may result in additional cleaning or restoration charges.
12. Mileage Policy
Unless otherwise stated in the booking confirmation, all rentals include unlimited mileage within Greece.
13. Loss of Vehicle Documents or Accessories
The renter is responsible for the safekeeping of all vehicle documents, keys, accessories, and optional equipment provided during the rental period.
Additional charges may apply in the event of loss, theft, or damage to items including vehicle keys, registration documents, GPS devices, child seats, or other supplied accessories.
14. No-Show Policy
Reservations will be held for a reasonable period after the scheduled pickup time.
Failure to collect the vehicle without prior notice may be considered a no-show cancellation, and the company reserves the right to cancel the reservation and retain applicable cancellation fees.
15. Reservation Modifications
Any request to modify a reservation, including changes to dates, times, vehicle category, or rental duration, is subject to availability and may result in a price adjustment.
The company reserves the right to refuse modification requests depending on fleet availability and operational limitations.
16. Force Majeure
The company shall not be held responsible for delays, cancellations, or inability to fulfil reservations caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, strikes, transportation disruptions, government restrictions, or force majeure events.
17. Vehicle Category Availability
Reservations are confirmed for a specific vehicle category and not for a particular vehicle model, colour, or brand.
If the reserved category becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, the company reserves the right to provide a similar or upgraded vehicle at no additional cost to the renter.
