Rental Policy

1. Age Requirement:
Driver must be a  minimum  of 23 years of age at the time of the rental for car Categories  Α, Β, and C. For all other car Categories  minimum driver’s age is 23 years.
Renters aged older than 72 years old have to purchase "Senior Citizen's Insurance" (Currently costs 20 € ,for the whole period of the rental)
2. Drivers license:
A valid driving licence held for at least one year is required. Driving licences issued in any country-member of the European Union are acceptable. Driving licences issued in countries not members of the European Union have to be accompanied by a valid International Driver’s Permit (IDP). *bestway rent a car withhelds the right to cancel a car rental booking if no or not the appropriate driving license(s) is/are shown on the first day of rental without being liable for any kind of compensation to the renter.
3. Insurance:
''bestwayrentacar.gr'' rates include a package of insurances known as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).
This Insurance package includes the following :

• Vis-à-vis third parties (excluding the driver).
• for death and bodily injuries.
• for material damages to third parties per accident.
• for the vehicle of bestway rent a car in case of window breaking (except light and mirrors).
• Road assistance: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week ,  valid only on  bestway rent a car island.

For damage or theft or fire caused by the fault or negligence of the lessee on the vehicle of  bestway rent a car., the lessee is liable up to the total commercial value of the vehicle at the time of the accident or theft.
Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.)
Lessees can limit their liability for legal involvement in any damage to the vehicle:

• to the amount of 500 € paying the amount of 10 € per day of rental for categories A, B, C.
• to the amount of 750 € paying the amount of 20 € per day of rental for categories D, E, F
• to the amount of 1,250 € paying the amount of 35 € per day of rental for categories MINI BUS, CABRIOLET

Provided that the damage is not due to a violation of the Road Traffic Code (RTC) (e.g. failure to stop at a red light or STOP sign, illegal overtaking, driving under the influence of alcohol, etc.)
Super Collision damage waiver (S.C.D.W):

Lessees wanting to be exempt from the above amounts of 750 €, 950 € and 1,250 € respectively, shall pay an additional fee of 10 € per day for categories A, B, C, 20 € for categories D , E, F and the amount of 30 € for MINI BUS, CABRIOLET categories.
With the payment of the above amounts lessees limit their liability (SCDW) to the minimum charge of 100 € for categories A, B, C, 150 € for categories D, E, F and 250 € for the other categories.

*The above insurance does not cover damages caused by violations of the Road Traffic Code (RTC), and damage to tyres, mirrors, traffic lights, under the body and inside.
5. Taxes:

• All rates include 24% V.A.T.
• All fines and administrative penalties are charged to the lessee.
• Prices and terms of rental can be changed without notice.
• The Greek Courts are competent to resolve any disputes arising herefrom.

6. Fuel:
The Renter is obliged to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as it had when collected. In the case of returning the vehicle with less fuel, the renter will be charged with the fuel difference. No refunds are issued for vehicles returned with more fuel than when collected.
7. Infringement management costs:
Lessees shall be responsible for the payment of fines that may result from RTC violations during the rental of the car. If they are not paid by the lessee and an intervention of bestway rent a car required for their payment, there will be a charge of € 50 over the cost of the violation (Infringement Costs).

9. Delivery /Collection:
Free at the airport, at "bestwayrentacar.gr" offices (within office hours 09.00 to 20.00)and in radius of  15 km around them .For deliveries/collections in longer distances (or for out of office hours) the extra cost will be shown at the  price analysis of your booking.
10. Rental extension:
Lessees wishing to keep the rented vehicle longer than the period already agreed, should contact the branch of Ionian cars where the vehicle was picked up in writing to indicate the extension of the rental and sign the new Rental Agreement.
11. Ferrying the car:
An advance written authorization from "bestwayrentacar.gr", is required.In the case of rental between islands, the lessees are required to return the vehicle to the pickup branch, otherwise all the transport costs shall be charged to them. In case of mechanical damage or accident, lessees are obliged to transfer the car at their own expense. During the transport of the car by boat, the insurance cover does not apply.
12. Car interior:
If the vehicle is returned with stains requiring biological cleaning (e.g. hair, sand, etc. on the seats or on the floor, in the trunk etc.), the lessee is charged with the amount of 100 €. In case of damage caused by the lessee (e.g. burns) there shall be a corresponding charge depending on the damage.
13. Loss or destruction of a key:
In case of loss or destruction of a key during the rental period, lessees shall have to pay the amount of 80 €.
14. Plate removal:
In the event of plates being removed during the rental period, lessees shall be charged for rental until the collection of the plates from the competent authority.
15. Payment methods:
"bestwayrentacar.gr" accept payments either in cash (€) or by credit card(Visa or Mastercard) & Debit cards. The estimated total cost of the car hire is payable at the beggining of the rental.

15.1 Transaction security

All payments made using the card are processed through the electronic payment platform of “Nexi e-Commerce” of Nexi Payments Greece S.A. and uses TLS 1.2 encryption protocol encryption with 128-bit (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL). Encryption is a way of coding the information until it reaches its recipient, who will be able to decode it using the appropriate key.

Our website allows payment via credit, debit and prepaid cards of Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Diners, Discover.


16. Reservations/Availability:
All bookings and reservations are made by car Group and not by car model . "bestwayrentacar.gr" reserves the right to change car model to an equivalent model or to upgrade model  in exceptional cases.

NOTE TO HIRER
NOTE - THE OWNER MUST GIVE THE HIRER AT LEAST ONE COPY OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT WHICH MUST BE KEPT IN THE VEHICLE THROUGHOUT THE TERM OF THE HIRE AND PRODUCED ON DEMAND TO AN ENFORCEMENT OFFICER.
